*Child must be present at the time of badge pickup. Child badges can be created online or at-con.
What to bring if you paid online:
- Valid physical photo ID such as: a student ID, passport, driver’s license, or state issued photo ID card.
- Confirmation email with QR code/barcode that was sent to you after badge payment (printed or digital OK).
- If you have a child 10 and under, bring them with you when you pick up the Child Badge. The child MUST be present at time of registration and MUST be accompanied at ALL TIMES bya guardian who has a paid ticket. The attendee can pick up their badge before returning with the child to pick up the Child Badge.
What to bring if you will pay at Registration:

- Money: we accept cash, check, and all major credit cards. Checks can be made out to Foundation for Anime and Niche Subcultures.

Q: Are kids 10 and under free?
A: Yes, kids 10 and under are free. Children under age 10 can be registered online when purchasing an adult FanimeCon ticket. Up to 5 children per adult badge.
Q: Why is there a donation page when registering?
A: FanimeCon is a non-profit made up of an all volunteer staff. We appreciate any and all support you can provide to continue making FanimeCon an awesome fan-run con!
Payment
Q: What forms of payment do you accept for online pre-registration?
A: We take all major credit and debit cards.
Q: What forms of payment do you accept for at-con registration?
A: We will accept cash and checks. Checks can be made out to Foundation for Anime and Niche Subcultures. We are unable to accept credit cards and debit cards at in-person registration.
Q: What if I don’t have cash or checks ready when I arrive at at-con registration?
A: Our online registration site will be available for you to register and pay online 24/7. Once you have paid, you will be able to pick up your badge at registration.
Q: I registered online but I can’t make it to FanimeCon, even though I already paid. Do you give refunds or rollovers?
A: As stated before payment checkout, we do not issue refunds or rollovers.
Q: I registered online but I can’t make it to FanimeCon, even though I already paid. Can I transfer my badge to someone else?
A: As stated during checkout, badges are non-transferable.
Pick-Up for Paid Online Registration Badges
Q: What time/days is Registration open at FanimeCon?
A: We will be open from Thursday to Monday of FanimeCon. Thursday will be pick-up exclusively for Paid Online Registration attendees only.
Q: What do I need to pick up my badge if I purchased my badge online?
A: Please bring a valid, physical, government-issued photo ID such as: a student ID, passport, driver’s license, or state-issued photo ID card, along with your confirmation email that will be attached to your registration account and emailed to you in early May, before FanimeCon.
*Note: Driver’s/Learner’s Permit and Birth Certificates are not valid forms of ID.
Q: I am under 18 and do not have a driver’s license or passport. What do I do?
A: All FanimeCon attendees must have a student ID or a valid government-issued ID. If an attendee is under 18, but does not qualify for a child badge, and does not have a government-issued photo ID or student ID, they can still pick up their badge if their parent or legal guardian accompanies them and the parent or legal guardian has a valid, physical, government-issued photo ID consistent with information on the attendee’s registration form. The parent or legal guardian is not required to purchase a badge and does not need to accompany the attendee at all times, but they will still be responsible for the attendee’s actions.
Q: I am a parent or legal guardian that accompanied my child to pick up their badge; can I still accompany my child without purchasing a badge?
A: This year, all convention-related spaces will require a badge to enter. This includes the entire San Jose Convention Center, which means you will not be able to accompany your child without also purchasing a badge.
Q: When/Where can I pick up my paid badge for online registration?
A: Attendees who paid online can pick up their badge starting on Thursday, May 22rd, 2025; they WILL NOT be mailed to you beforehand. You can pick up your badge at the FanimeCon prepaid line at the San Jose Convention Center.
Q: So I prepaid online, but does that mean that I HAVE to pick up my badge on Thursday?
A: No, Thursday is an additional option for prepaid attendees who wish to pick up their badge on that day. You can pick up your badge from Thursday-Monday during our open Registration hours.
Q: Can I purchase one-day registrations online?
A: Yes, but only on the day-of, during the specified hours below. You must also pick up your badge on the day-of.
Friday: 12:01 am — 6:59 pm
Saturday: 12:01 am — 6:59 pm
Sunday: 12:01 am — 6:59 pm
Monday: 12:01 am — 10:59 am
For example: You want to attend the convention only on Saturday. You may ONLY purchase a Saturday Only badge on Saturday, May 24th starting at 12:01 a.m. ONLINE. If you would like to purchase a badge AT the convention, then you can do so the day of at the appropriate time that registration is open. You MAY NOT purchase a single day badge on a different day. (i.e You cannot purchase a Saturday Only, Sunday Only, or Monday Only badge on Friday, or a Sunday Only or Monday Only badge on Saturday, etc.)
Q: Are badges mailed to my address or do I have to pick them up?
A: We do not mail badges, so you will need to pick them up during the listed hours for Registration.
Q: I can’t make it to the hours of Registration — can I have a friend pick up my badge for me?
A: We do not allow other people to pick up other people’s badges for them. This is a safety measure to ensure you get your badge.
Q: Where can we pick up our badges?
A: You can pick up your badges at FanimeCon Registration located at The Hub, in the main concourse area.

Q: Can I come on Thursday to purchase badges?
A: No, Thursday is only for prepaid attendees who have already paid online and wish to pick their badge up at that time. You can purchase your badge online and pick it up on the same day!
Q: What happened to Clockwork Alchemy?
A: They have decided to branch out to their own convention completely independent from FanimeCon. We encourage everyone to check it out and wish them all the best!
Q: I registered online, but my information has changed/is different fromthan what is on my identification/I want to change my information. What should I do?
A: Please email us at fanimeconsupport@cmrus.com to update your information!
Q: Why does my information need to match my ID?
A: This is so we can verify that the person on the badge is actually you. Otherwise, without confirmation, we cannot give you your badge.
Q: What is the “Fan Name”?
A: It’s a secondary name that can be a nickname. It is optional, but please note that it must be family appropriate. Your legal first and last name will still be displayed on the badge in addition to the “name on badge,” but will be displayed smaller than your fan name.
Q: What happens if I have an obscene Fan Name?
A: We will replace your Fan Name with your legal name. Yes, this means your legal name will be shown twice.
Q: I have a 6-year-old child. Do I still have to pay for a full weekend badge?
A: No, kids 10 and under are free. However, you will need to register them at the convention to get their child badge. Please register them online when you purchase your badge. When you are picking up/purchasing your badge at the convention, let the registration staff assisting you know that you will need to register a child 10 years old or under. The child must be present at the time of badge pick-up. The child must be accompanied AT ALL TIMES with a guardian who has a paid badge.
Q: Help, I’ve lost my badge! What’s the reprint policy?
A: Come to Special Reg and we can help you out the best we can!
Q: I am buying a badge for someone else; whose name do I put on it? Mine, or the person I am buying it for?
A: Please put the name of the person that is attending FanimeCon. Please do NOT put the name of the credit/debit card holder. FanimeCon tickets are non-refundable, non-transferable and do not rollover.
Q: Do I HAVE to put my legal name?
A: Because we check for a valid government-issued photo ID when you pick up your badge, the legal names MUST match or we will not release the badge to you. In the past, we have accommodated individuals who are in the transgender community. If you feel listing your legal name will cause you undue hardship, please email registration@fanime.com.
Q: I have a question I want to ask you at-con at Registration!
A: Great, please come see us at the Special Registration Line and we will be happy to assist you in any way we can!
Q: I am an artist and want to register for Artist Alley, what do I do?
A: All artists who are interested in participating in FanimeCon’s Artist Alley must submit an application with samples of their artwork. Additional questions can be directed to artistalley@fanime.com.
